Hollywood’s once most famous couple wanted to buy this perfect intimate wedding venue a while back – but they were unsuccessful. Which is great news for you as you can have your own wedding in this achingly beautiful Château.
Sarah and I were lucky enough to spend two summer nights here. To say we were completely blown away by it is an understatement. Château Doré has everything. It has fairytale good looks. Astounding views. 100 acres of wooded grounds you can lose yourself in. A heated pool, a gym with a spa and steam room, a waterfall. And that’s just the outside!
Inside, every room has been tastefully refurbished, including air-conditioning in all the bedroom suites. There are nine of these suites in total and each one has a view of the magnificent Dordogne valley.
The library, with its remarkable painted ceiling, also boasts a desk used by the US Ambassador to France when writing his letters to President Thomas Jefferson in the early 19th century. The Ambassador was a friend of the Count who owned the Château at the time and he often stayed there.
Moreover, you will find plenty to do and see in the area, too, because this part of Dordogne, known as the Perigord Noir, is probably its most visited region. You can find even more activities here.
So, there you have it – your perfect intimate wedding venue set in a perfect region. Just get in touch with Sarah and she will be happy to tell you more about the Château and the Perigord Noir. But, even more, she would love to hear your wedding plans.
